e-bike rider arrested after PCSO injured in Carlisle

A Carlisle man has been arrested after an incident in Carlisle saw a PCSO was injured.

The incident occurred at around 4.30pm in Edgehill Road. It was reported that a man driving an e-bike was in collision with a PCSO who was in the area conducting patrols.

The PCSO suffered cuts and bruises as a result of the incident.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, possessing cannabis, and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified drug above the specified limit

He has been released under investigation whilst officers continue with their enquiries.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to it.
