An established Carlisle family firm is the first to sign up to a fundraising campaign for the city’s People First Jolly Jumper Day.

Workers at Cubby Construction will ditch their workwear for something festive next month and raise money for People First, which supports people with learning difficulties.

Jolly Jumper Day aims to encourage people, businesses, and schools to host a festive jumper day on a date of their choosing in December.

Caitlin Olney, marketing manager for Cubby Construction, said: “Jolly Jumper Day is a great way to do something fun this Christmas that will make a big difference to a lot of people and spread a little festive cheer. “

“We’re thrilled to support People First with the Jolly Jumper campaign, hosting our event on Thursday December 15.

“With ambitions to raise over £400 throughout the event, not only will the team get the opportunity to wear a jolly jumper, but additional fundraising activities will include dusting off aprons to prepare for a jolly bake sale, gathering prizes for a raffle and preparing some jolly quiz activities.”

“It’s important as a local firm we listen to the needs of our communities and support them in achieving their goals.”

Natalie Bingham, fundraising officer for People First, said: “We have had a great initial response to our first ever Jolly Jumper Day campaign and we’re thrilled that Cubby Construction has been the first business to officially sign up! The team there are really enthusiastic and have some big plans for the day!

“It looks set to be a great day, having a bit of fun whilst raising important funds to help support people with learning difficulties, when they need it the most.

“We’re incredibly thankful for their support and can’t wait to work alongside them and see their festive efforts!”

Other organisations who have signed up include Choose Occupational Health, Fine & Country, Logic Business Systems, Marsh Commercial, More Handles, RAW Insurance and Realise HR.
