Cumbrian radio station CFM will get a new name next year – bringing with it national presenters.
Current breakfast host Robbie Dee will switch to the afternoons as CFM becomes Greatest Hits Radio (Cumbria and SW Scotland).
Ben Cooper, chief content and music officer for CFM owner Bauer Media Audio UK, said “Greatest Hits Radio has been going from strength to strength and we’re delighted to be able to bring it to listeners to Cumbria and South West Scotland on FM with this exciting rebrand.
“We know that listeners will love to continue hearing from Robbie Dee each weekday, as well as from lots of our other legendary broadcasters.”
Presenters include Simon Mayo, Martin Kemp and Jenny Powell.
Robbie said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Greatest Hits Radio family 1pm to 4pm weekday afternoons. After 20 years on the breakfast show, I’m also extremely excited about not getting up at 4am!”
The rebrand will happen in April.
CFM is the latest in a long line of independent local legacy stations to fall under Bauer’s Greatest Hits umbrella. Its Cash for Kids charity will continue.
