The family of an 89-year-old man killed in a collision on the A595 have paid tribute to his life.
Walter Faulder, of Fell View, Wigton, died at the incident at Orton Grange on Tuesday.
The collision involved a Citroen van and Mr Faulder, who was a pedestrian.
His family said:
“My dad was a truly wonderful gentleman. Proud to be a Wigtonian and serve his community through the fire service, receiving a British Empire Medal for his good service and dedication.
“He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father and a doting grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Not all heroes wear capes – some use a fire hose.”
