Shoplifters stole over £4,000-worth of items – including alcohol – from a Cumbrian supermarket.

Police have released CCTV images as part of their investigation into the shoplifting, which happened at Sainsbury’s in Penrith last Thursday, December 15, between 2pm and 2.45pm.

Officers like to speak to the two men pictured as part of their investigations.

The suspects left the area in a blue 4×4 and officers would like to speak to anyone else who witnessed this incident or can provide CCTV of the area at the time.

Police would also like to speak to the same men in connection with £3,000-worth of spirits from Kendal’s Sainsbury’s store later the same day. The alcohol was taken between 4.30pm and 5pm.

Officers said the crimes were believed to be linked.
