76-year-old man assaulted in Barrow

A 76-year-old man was taken to hospital after a daytime attack in Barrow.

The man was the victim of an assault at around 10.50am on Friday, December 23, on Harrison Street, close to the junction with Dalton Road.

A 31-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. he has since been released under investigation.

The pensioner was taken to Furness General Hospital for an injury to his neck. He has since been discharged.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, including drivers with dash-cam who may have driven on Harrison Street, between 10.45am and 11.15am on December 23, to make contact.

Include the incident number, log 83 of 23rd of December with any information reported.
