Owners of a Keswick glamping firm have said they felt honoured after Romeo Beckham and girlfriend Mia Regan chose to stay in one of their cabins over Christmas.

Romeo – who is a footballer and the son of David and Victoria Beckham – stayed at In the Vale, a luxury cabin hideaway business owned by the Birkett family alongside their working farm in Birkett Mire.

The duo stayed in the cabin named ‘The Fawn’ for two nights and the Birkett family said they felt taken aback by the footballer’s arrival.

They said: “We didn’t know whether it was him or not when the booking came through and we thought it was possibly just someone using the name. This is the first celebrity we’ve had stay in the cabin, which was made by our eldest son.

“It’s got a king size bed, a walk in wet room, log burning stove, handmade wooden kitchen and a hot tub outside that looks up at Blencathra. It has also got floor to ceiling windows so you can look up at the mountain during your stay.”

The hideaway was also named one of the best glamping sites in Britain recently and prices start at £330 for two nights.

The family added that their daughter greeted both Romeo and Mia and said that the duo were extremely nice. The pair later posted a recap of their visit to the cabin on TikTok, which received over 2.8 million views. In the video, the duo also payed a visit to Catbells and Derwentwater.

The family said: “We’re fortunate with where we are positioned underneath Blencathra so they could sit out in the hot tub and just about reach out and touch it, it’s a very beautiful place and we felt very privileged that he had chosen to stay with us.

“We were so honoured and really taken aback when he shared it on social media. We really didn’t think it would be Romeo Beckham coming to stay on a little fell farm in a little wood cabin.

“We just didn’t think that, but he’s human like the rest of us and it was very very special. We wanted to give him his privacy and he was obviously left alone to enjoy his little holiday because I’m sure he gets fed up of people pestering him and asking for autographs so we just wanted him to have his peace and tranquillity.”

The family added that the cabins have been doing very well since the duo chose to stay.
