Carlisle United midfielder Owen Moxon has won the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award for December in League Two.
Moxon was on the monthly shortlist with Salford’s Matt Smith, Stockport County’s Kyle Wotton and Will Collar, Northampton’s Sam Hoskins and Stevenage’s Carl Piergianni.
Voting on the 90min.com website fans from across the division picked out the United playmaker as the standout individual.
His goal against Crewe at the end of the month topped up an excellent month of performances as he helped the Cumbrians climb to fourth spot in the table.
Moxon said: “It’s always nice to get something like this and this one is even more special as it was chosen by the fans.”
“When people are getting nominated for things, be it the manager or players, it means that everyone is doing well. None of us can do it on our own, so that’s the important thing.
“Hopefully we all carry on to build and improve on what we’ve done through the first part of the season so that it’s an enjoyable and exciting run-in for all of us.”
Moxon received 23 per cent of the votes to take home Decembers award and he’s in good company as hot-shot Erling Haaland (Manchester City) won the Premier League award.
Amad Diallo (Sunderland) took the Championship prize and Marvin Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday) in League One.
