Connor Brown, who was released by Barrow in mid-week, has joined National North side Buxton.
The Derbyshire side won the NPL Premier Division title last season but are in a battle to avoid a sqift return to the same level.
They are currently two points and two places above the drop zone and on Saturday have a home game against the League leaders King’s Lynn.
The 31-year-old full-back asked to be released from his Barrow contract to help him find regular first team football after five seasons with the Bluebirds in which he played over 100 League and Cup games.
Brown is no stranger to non-League having played on loan at Eastwood Town and Hionckloey United when he was with Sheffield United and later with Guiseley and York City. Indeed he was a member of the Barrow squad which earned promotion to the Football League.
He also spent time with Carlisle United, playing eight games on loan from Oldham Athletic during the 2014/15 season.
