People can hear the latest updates on a £15 million A595 improvement scheme at a drop-in session next month.
Work to improve the accident blackspot at Grizebeck is set to begin this year and will see a 1.4km of the main road improved between Chapels and Grizebeck, north of Barrow.
The route runs to the east of the existing A595, passing properties at Dove Bank and Dove Ford before crossing the existing A595 and creating a new junction with the A595/A5092 to the west of the existing junction.
Cumbria County Council is inviting residents and businesses to attend the drop-in session, to hear updates on the detailed design phase of the improvement work, view plans and examine the improvement proposals in greater detail.
Funding for the scheme has been provided by Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership, Cumbria County Council and Department for Transport.

Cumbria County Council is working with contractor Story Contracting Ltd and design lead WSP on the scheme.
The drop-in session will be held at Grizebeck Community Hall on Wednesday, March 1 from 2pm to 6pm.
Staff from Cumbria County Council, Story Contracting Ltd and WSP will be on hand to answer questions.
Councillor Keith Little, Cumbria County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “The Grizebeck scheme will not only improve journey times and boost the county’s economy but will also create a safer road from Barrow to West Cumbria.

“This drop-in session will help the public and businesses see the full extent of the scheme and will really bring the plans to life.
“I’d like to encourage people to take the time to pop in and see the teams, as they are there to listen and answer any questions that the community may have.”
Alan Boyle, construction director for Story Contracting, said: “We are delighted to be working for Cumbria County Council on this project which is a vital scheme for the area. As well as delivering a new road, we are keen to create employment and opportunities for local residents, so we are looking forward to meeting people at the drop-in event.”
