An award-winning Carlisle aesthetic clinic is stepping up its support for women going through the menopause with regular clinics.

VL Aesthetic in Kingmoor has welcomed Dr Awfa Paulina to its team who, from this month, will be running clinics to help reduce the effects of the menopause.

He is credited with bringing Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy to Scotland and now Carlisle.

While practising as a GP, he became a non-executive board director with Medisco Plc in 2014 and established Clinica Medica in Glasgow as a one-stop shop aesthetic practice.

Dr Paulina said: “I am thrilled to become a part of an award-winning clinic, VL Aesthetics, which has made a significant impact on the larger community by engaging in charitable work and offering in-demand services to their clients.

“As a new member of the team, I will introduce several innovative treatments, such as advanced facial treatments utilising deep fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers, as well as body treatments such as fat dissolving and curves reshaping.

“Moreover, we will be introducing a new section of private medical services that includes hormone replacement therapy (HRT and BHRT) for people of all genders. I am eagerly looking forward to welcoming you to VL Aesthetics.”

Dr Paulina began last week with a Menopause Masterclass as part of events to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.

Vanessa Brown, managing director of VL Aesthetics, said: “Menopause is a natural biological process that occurs as a woman’s body transitions out of her reproductive years, but it can be a difficult time for many women due to the physical and emotional changes.

“At VL Aesthetics, we understand the challenges women face during this period, and we are dedicated to providing personalised care and treatment options that address individual needs.

“So we are delighted that Dr Awfa Paulina is joining VL Aesthetics and proud to announce the launch of our new menopause clinic, offering comprehensive solutions to help women navigate the challenging transition into menopause.

“Our clinic, staffed by highly qualified and experienced professionals, provides a range of services designed to support women through this important stage of life.”
