Ryan and Craig Blackburn, the brothers behind Michelin starred Ambleside restaurant the Old Stamp House, have been named among the best in the north.

The Lake District restaurateurs have been included in the Kuits NRB Top 50 Power List 2023.

The brothers were among 11 new entries in the list alongside the likes of Tommy Banks, The Black Swan, Oldstead, Lisa Goodwin-Allen, Northcote, Langho and Christopher Laidler, Climat, Manchester.

The list is judged by a panel of hospitality experts in the north of England and recognises operators who have excelled commercially and critically in the last year.

The Old Stamp House’s chef patron Ryan said: ”Craig and I are always a little bit taken aback when you receive recognition for what we do every day. We are both incredibly passionate about what we do, and we believe in constantly evolving and developing what we do.

“Hospitality has faced and is facing lots of challenges at the moment, but this recognition is testament to the fact that hard work and determination pays off, especially when you have an equally dedicated team on that journey with you.”

Simon Rogan, who runs the three Michelin starred L’Enclume and Rogan & Co in Cartmel, plus Henrock in Windermere and other venues, was also named on the list.
