Cranstons Brampton Food Hall is among the best butcher’s shops in the country.

The food hall, in the heart of Brampton, has been named as a finalist in the coveted Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards.

Food hall manager Mark Mallinson said: ‘’The whole team are thrilled to be named as a finalist by the Butcher’s Shop of the Year judges. We are really proud of the work we do bringing a huge range of expertly produced Cumbrian food and drink to the people of Brampton.

“It’s lovely to see everyone’s hard work recognised with this great news.’’

Brampton Food Hall opened in 2015 when Cranstons acquired the former HSBC bank and were able to move across the street from their original little shop on Front Street.

The 2,000sq ft food hall offers customers a huge range of butchery, delicatessen and takeaway food plus produce from more over 100 Cumbrian suppliers. It employs 14 butchers and assistants.

The Butcher’s Shop Awards honour and celebrate quality, commitment and achievement in the UK butchery industry.

Cranstons are up against Roast Mutton, of Kendal, Mainsgill Farm Shop, Richmond and Lishman’s of Ilkley. A mystery shopping visit will take place and the winner will be announced at a networking awards lunch on May 22 in Birmingham.
