Two people were rescued in separate incidents by emergency services on the South Cumbrian coast.
Furness Coastguard was called out to support Arnside Coastguard after reports that a person was cut off by the tide at Grange-over-Sands.
The person was rescued and while Furness Coastguard was returning to the station, volunteers were diverted to a person stuck in the mud at Bardsea.
The team was in Ulverston, so were able to arrive on the scene quickly and support was immediately requested from Millom Coastguard, Cumbria Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service and Ulverston Inshore Rescue.
Two Coastguard mud rescue technicians were immediately deployed and started to free the trapped person who was stuck up to their knee.
The team managed to free the person and with the help of Cumbria Fire and Rescue service safely recover them from the beach and hand them over to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
A Coastguard spokesman said: “Although there were two positive outcomes both of these incidents could very easily have been a lot worse.
“With the weather getting warmer and the start of the Easter Holidays we’re expecting our amazing beaches to be busy.
“We urge everyone to take note of their surroundings and check the tide times whilst at the beach, it may look nice and flat but it isn’t, the tide can come in around you and cut you off very quickly.
“If in danger around the coast, or you think someone else is dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
