Man airlifted to hospital after car park crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a collision in a Penrith car park.

The man, in his 60s, was one of two pedestrians injured in the collision in the car park outside Sainsbury’s and Premier Inn on Thursday, April 6, at around 4pm.

It also involved a MG VS.

The male pedestrian was taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary by air ambulance and his condition is described as serious but stable.

The other pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with minor injuries.

The driver of the MG was uninjured.

Police said they would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
