Friends of the Lake District’s county-wide litter pick takes place later this month and people are urged to sign up.
Over 600 people took part in the landscape charity’s litter pick event last year, from across the county taking in Frizington, St Bees, Shap, Coniston, Barrow and even reaching as far south as Carnforth and Arnside.
This year, the litter pick takes place on April 21 and 22 and organisers Friends of the Lake District hope even more people take part.
Kay Andrews, landscape engagement officer with Friends of the Lake District, said: “This year’s Great Cumbrian Litter Pick coincides with Earth Day 2023, calling on people to get inspired to take action and to invest in our planet. We think our Great Cumbrian Litter Pick fits the bill perfectly, so join us in taking action.
“Anyone can take part in The Great Cumbrian Litter Pick whether it’s a quick pick on your regular dog walk, a family day out, or organising or joining a community litter pick there’s an option for everyone.”
