West Cumbrian forward Harvie Hill has been recalled by Wigan from his loan spell with Toulouse Olympique.
Whitehaven born Hill, 19, had linked up with the French Championship side in March and had played in two games for them, including a big 52-0 win over London Broncos.
However he has now been recalled by the Super League club following an injury to prop Mike Cooper.
A serious knee injury sustained in the Easter win over St Helens will see the 34-year-old England international sidelined for the rest of the season – with 12 months being suggested for his recover.
Coach Matt Peet said: “We will support Mike through his rehab and as far as the squad is concerned it’s how we deal with it. That’s what we have a squad for.
“One bright light is Harvie Hill who has been playing really well on dual-registration and on loan, most recently at Toulouse.”
Harvie is the son of Howard Hill the former Oldham, Hull KR and Whitehaven forward who was a professional for 16 years.
