Patrick Brough has turned down the chance of a new contract with Barrow and is to leave the club.
The Bluebirds have confirmed that terms could not be agreed and they have wished the 27-year-old full-back good luck for his future.
Carlisle-born Brough started with his home-town club before joining Morecambe after loan stints with Lincoln and Salford.
He spent time in Scotland with Falkirk before joining Barrow in 2019 and has gone on to play over 150 games for the Bluebirds.
Barrow say they have offered new contracts and remain in negotiations with Josh Gordon, Josh Kay and Josh Lillis. They say more news will be confirmed in due course.
Players under contract at the club for the 23/24 season are: Paul Farman, Tyrell Warren, Elliott Newby, Rory Feely, George Ray, Niall Canavan, Sam Foley, Tom White, Robbie Gotts, Ben Whitfield, Richie Bennett and Ged Garner.
The Bluebirds have released seven players at the end of their contracts – Scott Moloney, David Moyo, Mark Ellis, Joe Grayson, Solomon Nwabuokei, Benni Smales-Braithwaite and Pawel Zuk although the last two have been invited back for pre-season training.
Three players – Sam McClelland, Harrison Neal and Jake Young – who were on loan at Barrow for the season have now returned to their parent clubs.
