Silloth’s popular rural pride event has been postponed until 2024.
Organisers have said they are currently operating with a small team and are looking for more volunteers to help run next year’s pride.
In a statement posted to social media, a spokesperson for the event said: “We have taken the difficult decision to postpone our event until 2024.
“We have a small dedicated team of volunteers who help put on this event, we are seeking new volunteers to join our small team to help put on pride in 2024.
“Anyone who is interested please DM the page. We will be arranging a meeting next month to formulate a plan for the 2024 event.
“We understand this is very disappointing for all those involved and attending our events. But hopefully we will be back in 2024 bigger and better.”
The event, which features live music and entertainment and has a carnival atmosphere, aims to highlight diversity in a rural setting and has previously drawn in crowds of thousands of people.
It was first held in 2019 and hosted by Silloth Rotary Club. It was then cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in both 2020 and 2021 and returned last year.
