A man has been jailed for 32 months after he admitted having indecent images of children.

Andrew Stopforth, 54, of Flookburgh, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Friday.

He admitted three counts of making indecent images of children as well as three charges of voyeurism.

Stopforth will also be subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and an indefinite sex offender notification requirements.

Stopforth’s arrest came after information was received by police about an indecent image of a child.

Enquiries identified Stopforth as a suspect and a search warrant was carried out at his house and his devices seized.

Also on his devices were images of people unaware their images were being captured.

After the sentencing, Detective Constable Sarah Aiston said: “Our unit works all year round carrying out unseen policing to protect the public.

“We operate a dedicated team of skilled officers who are trained to specifically deal with these types of offences.

“We will do our upmost to ensure such offenders are brought to justice.”
