A historic Avro Lancaster bomber from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fly over Cumbria next month.
The Second World War aircraft – one of just two airworthy examples left in the world – is scheduled, weather permitting, to pass over Solway Aviation Museum, Carlisle, on Sunday July 23 at 1.47pm.
The Lancaster was the most successful RAF heavy bomber of war with 7,377 aircraft built and is famous for the daring ‘Dambusters’ raids which took place 80 years ago.
