A walker collapsed while out on a Lake District walk as temperatures soared.
He was descending Scafell Pike yesterday, June 16, when he collapsed and a passing doctor feared a serious heat-related illness.
The walker was initially helped by passing walkers and mountain leaders at the location, while mountain rescue teams made their way there.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was called by police to attend at around 3.15pm. The air ambulance was also called.

Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team said: “Five Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team members also just happened to be close by and responded quickly.
“The Helimed crew arrived first and assessed and treated the walker whilst the mountain rescue team members ascended as swiftly as possible in the heat.
“Once stabilised, the quickest evacuation route for the walker involved an uphill stretcher carry, and thanks to some skilful flying to relocate the helicopter by the pilot the effort was significantly reduced. After the short carry the walker was transferred to the aircraft and then flown to hospital to continue his treatment.
“All in all, a great team effort by members of the public and the teams involved to get the best outcome for the walker, and we wish him a swift recovery. Our thanks to all parties involved.”
