The A66 remains blocked after a collision on the A66 between the Threlkeld and Troutbeck junctions.
Emergency services were called to Mungrisdale at around 4.30pm
Both lanes are blocked and there is a build-up of traffic in the surrounding areas.
Drivers are asked to use alternative routes, if possible.
