Workington Town completed a convincing performance at Derwent Park with a 60-10 win over Midlands Hurricanes.
It was part of a special community day at the club to help boost the special Logan and Gary Lion Heart Fund which will provide heart screening facilities in Cumbria.
Town scored ten tries on the day, all of which were converted by Ciaran Walker, and were always too strong and quick for the visitors.
They went ahead after only six minutes when Malik Steele gathered a kick to go over under the sticks and provide Walker with his first successful kick.
On 18 minutes Luke Charlton bulldozed his way over and four minutes later Jordan Burns gathered a grubber from Walker to score the third try.

It took until the half-hour mark to score again but this was from top scorer Sean Sabutey after he had exchanged passes with the returning Brad Holroyd.
Just before half-time Holroyd celebrated his return to Town colours by going over in the corner and Walker’s excellent conversion gave the home side a 30-0 lead at the break.
Six minutes into the second-half Liam McNicholas was given a yellow card and immediately the Hurricanes took advantage of their extra man by scoring in the corner through winger Hayden Freeman. Ben Stead added the conversion.

But there was to be no more joy for the Midlands side with Town down to twelve as on 50 minutes Carl Forber slipped through to score the sixth Workington try.
Aaron Burns was making his Town League One debut and the former Kells amateur was able to mark the occasion by scoring the next try on 56 minutes.

Blain Marwood then got in on the act, scoring twice inside three minutes, the second after following-up a kick by Aaron Burns.
Town’s final try came five minutes from time, scored by the man who had started it all early in the game – Steele, although Midlands did have the last word in the 79th minute with their second try from prop Toby Richardson but Stead’s conversion attempt hit the post.
