Joel Senior, the full-back released by Carlisle United, has joined Morecambe for the 2023/24 season.
The 24-year-old became the club’s fourth new signing inside a 24-hour period as they look to regroup after relegation.
Manchester-born Senior recovered from a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered last year after joining from Altrincham.
He went on to play 16 times in the second half of the campaign and came off the bench at Wembley when the Blues beat Stockport County on penalties to earn promotion.
Manager Derek Adams said: “Joel has shown throughout his career that he isn’t scared to work hard and roll his sleeves up and it’s a credit to him that his journey has taken him to this stage.
“Joel is still only 24 years old and still developing, so there will be progress to be made in the next year and this is a good place for him to do it.”
Senior joined the Oldham youth set-up at 15 and mainly played non-League football with the likes of FC United, Curzon Ashton and Altrincham apart from a brief spell at Burnley.
He had been signed by the Premier League club after impressing at Curzon Ashton.
