Wath Brow A gained revenge for their E Lamb and Son Amateur Cup final defeat by Maryport.
But they had to dig deep for their 18-10 home win in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland Amateur Rugby League.
At half-time Maryport held a 10-4 lead and were looking good for a memorable second win of the season against the Hornets.
But Wath Brow fought back well, scored three second-half tries and prevented Maryport from adding to their total.
Joel Baker had put Maryport in front with an unconverted try after just six minutes but the Brow were level after a quarter of an hoiur when Jordan Milburn levelled with a try.
Maryport went back in front on 29 minutes when Alex Woodhall got over and Blake Miller added the conversion.
The half-time team talk must have been effective for the Hornets for within four minutes they were in front. Both Milburn and Brad White went in for unconverted tries.
It was tight after that but on 57 minutes Charlie Thomlinson scored the decisive try which Sam Curwen converted and Maryport just couldn’t get back into the game over the last quarter.
Kells A had produced a fine performance last week to beat Wath Brow A but they couldn’t repeat that at Cockermouth.
The Titans were in good form and finished the game comfortable 28-0 winners – scoring six tries and earning the bonus of a shut-out against their visitors.
It was a pretty symmetrical effort by Cockermouth with 14 points in each half – three trie and a conversion in each.
Regan Tinnion ascored the opener after 15 minutes and he added his second after 32 minutes, also adding the conversion.
A minute before half-time Seamus Hutton got over for another unconverted try.
It was Hutton who went on to complete a hat-trick with two second-half tries in the 50th and 70th minutes, the second converted by Shane Cusack.
In between Alex Barton added an unconverted try for the Titans.
Champions Distington went on their merry way with a 34-12 win at Egremont A but the hosts made it tougher for them in the second-half.
By half-time they were 24-6 clear but they just shaded the second half 10-6.
Tyrone Dalton (2), Jack Penrice, Aaron Donnelly, Matt Hewer and Kelvin Lynch scored the Distington tries with Steve Clarke kicking five goals.
The Egremont try scorers were Brandon Groggins and Liam Kirkbride with two conversions from Kaiden Block.
The scheduled game between Lowca and Ellenborough A was awarded to the hosts as a 21-0 victory as Elbra were unable to field a team.
