Cumbria still have work to do on the third and final day of their NCCA Championship game with Bedfordshire at Furness.
Play was ended early because of rain after only 23.4 overs were possible on the second day, leaving the visitors very much in charge.
They quickly got rid of the last Bedfordshire batsman, with only seven added to the overnight total but that left the visitors with a first innings lead of 123.
In the 20.4 overs that were possible before the rain ended play for the day Cumbria had rather limped to 66-4 – still 57 behind.
Nico Watt had last man Jack Fuller trapped leg before for 14, to finish with 2-6 from his three overs.
Sam Sharp had taken 4-69 on the opening day with Ed Moulton claiming 2-49.
Matt Coles, who had done the damage in Cumbia’s first innings, also proved a thorn in their sides second time round, taking 3-31 to help reduce the host county to 53-4.
Sam Dutton (8no) and skipper Michael Slack (5no) were digging in and over the next seven overs took it to 66-4 when the players had to seek the shelter of the Furness pavilion.
Ben Walkden (16), JJ Fielding (15), Freddie Fallows (12) and Watt (7) were the dismissed batsmen for Cumbria.
Play is due to start at 10.30am today but again the forecast isn’t good.
