Barrow continued their pre-season programme with a clear-cut 8-1 against Holker Old Boys.
The North West Counties Division One North side were taken apart by Pete Wild’s men after a slow start.
Highlight of the first-half was a hat-trick from Dean Campbell, who joined from Aberdeen a few weeks ago, while the second-half was punctuated by some spectacular finishes.
Holker had defended well in the early stages of the game and it took 27 minutes before Barrow went ahead through Campbell from the penalty spot.
It looked as though it was going to be a contest when Holker equalised almost immediately on the half hour with a deflected free-kick from Jamie Hodgson.
Unfortunately for Holker they conceded a penalty again three minutes later and Campbell notched his second.
Barrow were then gifted a third goal in the 35th minute after a trialist’s cross was deflected into the net by a Holker defender.
Campbell then completed his hattrick in the 43rd minute after he curled one in from the edge of the area.
Barrow made eleven changes for the second-half and it took them only three minutes to score their fifth goal when Jamie Proctor connected with a spectacular scissor kick from a long throw by Rory Feely.
Nineteen minutes went by before the next goal, a thundering effort by Ged Garner from the edge of the area which gave the keeper no chance.
Three minutes later Tom White curled a stunning strike into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The rout was completed in the 77th minute when David Worrall found Proctor with a clever ball and he beat the offside trap, before squaring it for Ben Whitfield to tap home from close range.
