A man was warned he could be jailed for offering to illegally supply three controlled drugs, including cocaine, during the early days of the first UK COVID lockdown.
Joshua Armstrong, 27, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday afternoon and pleaded guilty to four offences.
Three involve offering to supply controlled drugs — class A cocaine and also class B substances ketamine and cannabis. A fourth crime involves the simple possession of cannabis.
Armstrong’s illicit offers are said to have occurred in Cumbria between April 16 and May 20 2020.
The judge, Recorder Kate Bex, adjourned his case to allow the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report.
Armstrong, of Cunliffe Road, Blackpool, was granted conditional bail and is due to be punished for his offending at the crown court on September 18.
“Although I have directed a pre-sentence report, I make no promises at all about what’s likely to happen,” the judge told Armstrong. “I know that you will have been advised as to the almost inevitable (custodial) outcome.”
