Plans for a new solar farm in the Brampton area could get official approval next week.
Opdenergy UK has applied for planning permission for the new facility on land to the north of Leaps Rigg in Walton.
Members of Cumberland Council’s planning committee will consider the application at Allerdale House on Workington on Wednesday, September 27, from 10.30am.
As well as the solar farm the development will include associated works, equipment and necessary infrastructure at the site.
The application is being put before the committee because it is of strategic significance and it is for a renewable energy development which covers an area of one hectare or more.
Officers have recommended that it should be approved with conditions.
