Penrith will have welcomed the break for the World Cup final last week.
It gave them a chance to catch their breath, reset and hope that their lengthy injury list would start to ease.
But whether they will be quite ready for the reintroduction to League rugby on Saturday is another matter.
They face a trip to 100 per cent Regional 1 North West leaders Blackburn who signed off two weeks ago with an 80-38 victory at Kendal.
Penrith have already suffered the biggest defeat in their history – conceding 106 points at second in the table Rossendale – so appreciate how tough this latest trip is likely to be.
Meanwhile Kendal, after that heavy home defeat to the leaders have something much less demanding when they travel to Anselmians.
Their hosts are third bottom with just one win and a draw from their opening seven games, so Kendal coach Dan Bowman will see this as an opportunity to quickly make amends for that Blackburn disaster.
In Regional 2 North there’s another Cumbrian derby in prospect with Upper Eden hosting Cockermouth – the teams who finished first and second to earn promotion last season.
Upper Eden have slipped after a great start to the season but Cockermouth remain rooted to bottom spot, finding the step-up tricky at the moment.
Aspatria, however, are going well currently lying fourth in the table and facing a trip to eighth-placed Consett on Saturday. The Black Reds have recovered well from a faltering start and have ambition of climbing even further up the League ladder.
Keswick are next to bottom but have two wins to their credit, including a comfortable one at Cockermouth two weeks ago when they produced their best form of the season.
They will be looking to replicate that at Stockton with their hosts five places and nine points better off.
In Counties 1 Cumbria leaders Carlisle travel to Workington who haven’t been able to back-up their first two performances of the season.
There are also two intriguing derby clashes – Aspatria 2nds host Wigton and Whitehaven are at home to Egremont.
The other games are Keswick 2nds v Hawcoat Park and St Benedict’s v Millom.
