Barrow are into an automatic promotion place after they beat Walsall 2-0 at Holker Street.
They move into third in the table as they continued their unbeaten run in fine style.
At the moment they can’t stop chalking up milestones. This was their fifth Football League win in a row and that hasn’t been achieved since the 1967-68 season in Division Four.
It also stretched their record-breaking run to ten games as the Bluebirds continue to be the division’s in-form side
Pete Wild’s men opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Ben Whitfield showed great control to collect the ball on his high before thumping home a great shot from the corner of the penalty area.
Walsall had to change keepers after 33 minutes when Owen Evans was injured and had to be replaced by Jackson Smith who was making only his third appearance for the first team.
In the second half Barrow continued to be the dominant side and they went close to a second goal with efforts from James Chester and Whitfield.
They eventually did score again in the 70th minute when captain Niall Canavan managed to force the ball over the line from close range and clinch the points.
