Kendal Town suffered a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to West Didsbury and Chorlton last night.
Two first half goals at Parkside Road were enough to give the visitors their victory.
Manager Jimmy Marshall said: “I didn’t think we were too bad in the first-half but we gave ourselves a mountain to climb by conceding two sloppy goals.
“They managed the game well in the second-half and we couldn’t find any rhythm or play the way we wanted.
“We also had players who weren’t at it across the park and you can’t have that. If you don’t perform in this League you pay for it and that’s what’s happened here.
“But we have to pick ourselves up and go again on Saturday because it will be even tougher at leaders Wythenshawe who are really flying at the moment.”
Oliver Ford scored both goals for the visitors in the 12th and 37th minutes.
The Mintcakes are now down to sixth, eight points behind the leaders Wythenshawe.
