Plans have been lodged to build a new outdoor water park and adventure playground at a Silloth holiday park.
Cove Communities have put in a planning application to Cumberland Council to make the changes at Solway Holiday Village on Skinburness Drive.
The firm is proposing to remove existing structures, including part of the Lido Building, and create a large outdoor play area and pool for families.
The new space would feature a large children’s adventure playground alongside an outdoor pool complete with an interactive ship centrepiece for play, a splash park, fountain run, water tunnels and three water slides.
Dry ground play structures will include a large wooden RAF plane, a sand pit and tree house, a high net play area as well as a Roman fort themed climbing gym and swings.

It would also involve the creation of a new access stairwell, erection of supporting facilities, including a food and drinks unit, and changing facilities.
Loungers and cabanas will also line the new pool – which is set to be family friendly.
In addition, the Lido Building would be reclad, including a new rear access, provision of an ancillary plant room, and associated hard and soft landscaping and infrastructure works.
According to the planning application the site is currently used for ancillary facilities to the existing holiday village and caravan park.
It is proposed that the windows should be aluminium, the walls be made from metal cladding with light blue timber frame walls, with painted timber frame walls, clad with stained shiplap timber boards.
It would also have a timber roof clad with dark grey membrane with a timber board roof with paint finish.
The plans are being considered by planning officers at the council’s planning department.
