Northampton boss Jon Brady has praised opposite number Paul Simpson ahead of Saturday’s League One clash at Carlisle’s Brunton Park.
Both teams were promoted from League Two after last season and renew rivalry with both initially struggling at the wrong end of the table although Brady’s side have picked-up well.
Brady said: “Carlisle – just like us – are going to have to ride through difficult periods in the season at this level and it’s about how you come out the other side.
“Paul Simpson did very well to get them promoted last year. I’m sure they will be looking to win on Saturday but we are in good form and we are looking forward to the challenge.
“Every team at this level is super competitive and we take nothing for granted.
“We had a hell of a battle there last season and I’m expecting nothing less on Saturday but these are the challenges we thrive on and we can’t wait for the game.”
Northampton had started slowly but have climbed steadily to 12th in the table, 11 points better off than Carlisle who are third bottom.
