A 39-year-old has been arrested after a woman on social media claimed her drink had been spiked while out on a night out in Carlisle.
Carlisle Police said: “Officers are aware of a post circulating on Facebook regarding a woman reporting a suspicion she may have been spiked while out in Carlisle on Saturday December 16.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing into the incident by detectives from our crime and safeguarding team.”
The man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation.
The woman was taken to the city’s Cumberland Infirmary.
