A young person has been arrested and a dispersal order put in place after a spike of anti-social behaviour in Barrow town centre over the weekend.
The order gives officers and PCSOs the power to require persons to leave an area if they suspect that their presence will contribute to crime or disorder. Failure to comply may result in that person’s arrest and prosecution.
Barrow Police said: “It follows incidents of disorder on Saturday night, resulting in the arrest of a juvenile suspect and the dispersal of several other persons.”
Officers were on foot patrol last night in the town centre to enforce the order.
