
A man arrested as part of a murder investigation into the death of a man in Workington has been released on police bail.
A 33-year-old man was found dead on Christmas Day in his home on the town’s Clay Street.
Police were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service shortly after 5.55pm that day.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but has now been bailed while investigations continue to ascertain the exact circumstances of the man’s death.
Cumbria police said the investigation may take some time and there were no other individuals related to the investigation.
Police cordoned off Workington’s South Watt Street, just beyond the junction with Oxford Street to the junction of North Watt Street, Fisher Street and Falcon Place on Boxing Day as part of the investigation.
