Kendal Town were denied a vital win on the Isle of Man last night as they conceded a late goal.
The Mintcakes had led 1-0 at half-time, and missed a great opportunity to seal the points six minutes from time.
They were awarded a penalty and Matt Dudley, on his return to the club from Ramsbottom, fired wide.
Then, in the fifth minute of time added on at the end saw Dean Pinnington head in a back post equaliser.
The draw leaves Kendal in sixth, one place and three points outside the play-off positions.
Manager Jimmy Marshall said: “It’s just the way things are going at the moment. We defended really well apart from once, right at the death, but there were only 15 seconds left when we left a lad with a free header at the far post.
“I’m disappointed at conceding so late, obviously, but I can’t fault the lads effort in horrendous conditions of wind and rain.
“The penalty would have obviously made a difference but unfortunately Duds missed.
“I have always got to give the Isle of Man a lot of credit because I thought they were good and had a real go in the second-half.
“We go again on Tuesday against Prestwich and hopefully get back to winning ways.”
Marshall also had a word for new signing Dudley after his penalty miss.
“He held his hand up at the end and said he should have won the game for us but we are not blaming him. We saw his class during the game and I know he’s going to bring quality and goals to the team,” said the manager.
