Strong winds are expected to batter Cumbria today.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning from 9am until 5pm for high winds that may cause disruption to travel.
During the morning the high winds are expected to also bring heavy rain before slowly easing later on.
The forecaster said: “Gusts of 45 to 55mph are expected widely with a few places – most likely hills and coastal areas – likely to see gusts up to 65mph.
“During the late morning and early afternoon high gusts will be accompanied by rain, heavy at times before wind starts to slowly ease from the north later.”
Cumbria police have also asked drivers to proceed with caution, allow extra time for journeys and be mindful of trees, branches and other debris in the road.
It comes after warnings for heavy rain were issued last week on the back of Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn.
What to expect
- Some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges and damage to trees is also possible
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport expected
