Work to test two bridges on the A595 at Muncaster has been postponed.
The A595 was due to closed at Hard Road from today at 8pm, Thursday February 15 for two nights and over three nights from Monday, February 19.
But Cumberland Council has said the work has been postponed as a precautionary measure after it considered weather forecasts.
The project aims to assess the bridge structures load capacity, for Muncaster Mill Bridge and Muncaster Bridge on A595, with the aim of identifying possible future maintenance needs.
The authority said the rescheduled work will be scheduled within the next month, for four to six nights.
People will receive advance notice of at least seven days before the rescheduled work begins, the council said.
