Moving up to the Championship for the 2024 season hasn’t just been about putting a team together on the track.

Workington Comets are also looking to sort out volunteers, attracting new ones in the process, ahead of the season’s launch in March.

There are a number of jobs which have to be filled including track staff, hospitality staff; stadium music and stadium announcer.

As a result of that the Comets are holding a staff meeting on Friday, February 23 at 7pm at the Waverley Hotel, Workington for those interested.

A Comets spokesman said: “If anyone cannot attend the staff meeting on that date we still want to hear from them about any role that they feel they may be able to help with.

“Those interested can get in touch via https://workingtoncomets.com/contact/; Email us: info@workingtoncomets.com or drop a message on our social media pages.”

The Comets have had six of their team signed for a while now and expect to announce the seventh rider very soon.

The first two dates in the diary at Northside are Saturday, March 16 – the Ben Fund Bonanza and Saturday, March 23 – Press and Practice.
