It’s taken time but Northside finally booked their place in the quarter finals of the Sunday County Cup.

After two postponements they finally got to play their tie with Sun Inn and they beat the Aspatria side 6-1.

Anthony Zajac (2), Cain Pears (2), Tommy Whitehead and Jaden Scott scored the goals that earned them a trip to Denton Holme on March 3.

Sun Inn scored a consolation goal through Dan Pearson.

In the Premier Division Deer Orchard had their best result of the season when they hit double figures, winning 10-2 at Thornhill.

Luke Graham led the way with half the tally himself while Sam Wright (2), Ben Wright, Callum West and an own goal made up the rest.

Thornhill, who had been showing signs of a recovery after a poor start to the season, replied through Scott Wilson and Ryan Lowery.

The other Premier Division game between Bluebell and Lowca was postponed.

One game went ahead in Division One in which Salterbeck’s poor recent run continued with a 4-1 defeat at Senhouse Street.

Terry Wharrier helped himself to a hat-trick with Gary O’Driscoll also on target while Jake Heron netted for Salterbeck.

Dearham booked their place in the Albert Murphy Trophy final when they beat Flimby 6-0 in the semi-final.

Danny Drydon (2), Jack Brown, Lewis Manchester, Aaron Lister and Darren Rule scored the goals.

In the League Cup third tier The Sun earned a hard-fought 4-3 win at Seaton Rangers with goals from Jamie Pattinson (2), Joe Dobinson and Leo Seager.

Seaton stayed in contention until the end through Jonny Walton, Spencer Glaister and an own goal.

The fixtures for this Sunday are as follows:

Kenny Hailes Memorial Trophy semi-final – FC Cosmos v Parkside.

Albert Murphy Trophy semi-final – Northside v Butcher’s.

League Cup third tier – Swan Inn v Royal Oak; King’s Arms v Seaton Rangers; Flimby v Salterbeck.

Premier Division – Lowca v Moresby; Deer Orchard v Thornhill; Dearham v Bluebell.

First Division – The Sun v Sun Inn.
