Former Workington Comets rider Charles Wright is finalising preparations for his testimonial at Redcar on Sunday March 17.
The Bears captain has secured the services of World No.2 Fredrik Lindgren, who is racing in several early-season events in the UK that week-end.
Lindgren, booked for the Ben Fund Bonanza at Workington the day before, will be joined at Redcar by Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Erik Riss, Jaimon Lidsey, Danny King, Jye Etheridge and Jason Edwards.
A former British champions, Wright has also booked Cumbrian Richard Lawson, who was also a Workington rider.
Wright rode four seasons for the Comets between 2007 and 2011 – only missing 2010 when he was at Redcar for the first time.
He rode at Workington with Lawson in 2009 and 2011 when the former scrambling star was starting to make his name in British speedway.
Wright said: “I’m very happy with the line-up so far and am sure the Redcar fans and everyone else who is going to attend will be too.
“It’s going to be a 16-rider individual with a semi and a final, so 22 heats in total, but obviously there will be other attractions like some of the Young Lions doing demonstration races.
“The field mainly consists of riders I have had connections with, either through being team-mates or becoming friends with them over the years.”
