
Two men have been arrested after drugs and property were seized in Wigton.
Officers from Cumbria Constabulary’s Rural Crime Team and Tactical Support Group carried out the arrests as part of an investigation into a recent spate of trailer thefts.
During these enquiries, police seized suspected stolen property and cannabis. Officers also seized vehicles believed to be connected to the thefts.
A 25-year-old man, from Wigton, was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property, theft and handling stolen goods.
A 23-year-old man, from Wigton, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property, theft, handling stolen goods as well as supply of a controlled class B drug – cannabis.
Both men remain detained for questioning.
