Barrow Raiders Ladies will open their Betfred Women’s Super League season at the prestigious DW Stadium against Wigan Warriors Women.

Amanda Wilkinson’s side lock horns with her former club as part of a Wigan double-header on Friday April 19 as the men’s team take on Castleford Tigers later in the night.

The Raiders Ladies’ game at the DW Stadium will be a 5.30pm kick-off and will be the first time the Wigan women’s team have played a game at the DW Stadium.

The fixture will also mark Denis Betts’ first Women’s Super League game in charge of the Warriors.

Barrow Ladies head coach Amanda Wilkinson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for my girls to enjoy a taste of playing at one of the most iconic rugby league grounds in the UK.

“On a personal note, I’m looking forward to returning to the DW after spending 14 very happy years with the club.

“The girls have been working extremely hard ahead of the new season, preparing for both the Challenge Cup group stages and the upcoming league campaign.

“They have earned the right to play at the highest level, and I am confident that they can go out there and produce a good performance to kickstart our 2024 season.”
