10p swims for youngsters in Cumberland

All children aged up to 16 from the Cumberland area will be able to go for a swim in five indoor pools for only 10p over the Easter school holidays.

The discounted scheme has been put in place by Cumberland Council, with the support of GLL and Wigton Baths Trust.

The council scheme will offer discounted swimming opportunities throughout the two weeks.

It will be available at the following leisure sites at allocated times during the Easter school holidays:

  • Cockermouth Leisure Centre: Until Friday April 5 and Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, 1pm to 2pm each day.
  • Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre, Whitehaven: Until Friday April 5 and Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, 1pm to 1.50pm each day.
  • The Sands Centre, Carlisle: Until Sunday April 14, 10am to 10.50am each day including weekends.
  • Workington Leisure Centre: Until Friday April 5 and Monday April 8 to Friday April 12, 11am to noon, each day plus 1pm to 2pm on each of these days except today, Wednesday April 3 and Wednesday April 10.
  • Wigton Baths: Wednesday April 3 and Wednesday April 10, 11.15am to 12.15pm and 2.15pm to 3.15pm, Thursday April 4 and Thursday April 11, 10am to 11am and 3pm to 4pm, Friday April 5 and Friday April 12, 10am to 11am and 2.15pm to 3.15pm, Saturday April 6 and Saturday April 13, 10am to 11.30am plus Monday April 8, 11am to noon and 3pm to 4pm, Tuesday April 9, 11am to noon and 2pm to 3pm.
