The start of the Cumbria Cricket League has been put back a week until Saturday, April 27.
The fixtures for the original start date of April 20 will now be fitted in on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The first round of the Higson Cup has also been put back and will now be played on May 27.
The reason for the decision to push back a week the opening fixtures is because of the recent bad weather which has resulted in lack of time for pitch preparation.
The Greater Manchester Cricket League and the North West Cricket League (ex Bolton and Ribbelsdale leagues) have also postponed their first week.
The Liverpool Competition are considering it and a decision is expected early next week. The Palace Shield is also considering it.
So the April 20 games now being played on Bank Holiday, Monday August 26 are Carlisle v Cockermouth; Cleator v Whitehaven; Furness v Haverigg; Keswick v Dalton; Millom v Egremont; Workington v Wigton.
The opening games of the season will be on April 27 now and are as originally announced for that date: Carlisle v Keswick; Dalton v Cleator; Egremont v Workington; Haverigg v Millom; Whitehaven v Furness; Wigton v Cockermouth.
