Work to install a manhole cover on a Carlisle road will start tonight.
Cumberland Council contractors will be at Stanwix Bank from 7pm today, April 26.
The project requires the installation of a new manhole frame and cover on the southbound lane of Stanwix Bank opposite Cromwell Crescent. The lane closure will be in place until 7pm on Sunday, April 28.
The authority said: “Due to the high volume of traffic in this area, the lane will remain closed for most of the weekend to allow sufficient time for the materials to set, which is essential before we can reopen the lane to traffic.
“This will mean that there will be a period of time, when there is no activity on site.”
