Holmen Iggesund clubs observed a minute’s silence ahead of the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL matches at the weekend.
The closest of the three games was at Hensingham where the A team just edged out Aspatria 20-18 with tries from Henley Donnan, Taylor Richardson, Dylan Cromwell and Deon Crowe. Dean Bragg kicked two goals.
Aspatria responded with tries from Mark Irwin (2), Owen Thorndike and Jordan Moore with one goal from Ben Tootill
Hensingham, who had led 10-4 at half-time, were well served by Bragg Dean, who was their man of the match while Mark Irwin picked-up the Aspatria nomination.
Wath Brow A proved much too powerful for Flimby and rattled up 13 tries in a 76-10 victory after establishing a 36-6 lead by half-time.
Rhys Booty and Grant Underwood scored tries for Flimby and there was a conversion from Dan Weir.
The Wath Brow tries were scored by Jamie Devine (3), Matt Sibbald (2), Tom Clark (2), Jamie McAllister (2), Jack Meagan, Greg Rooney, Josh McConnell and David Bradley. Sibbald landed 11 conversions and Jenson Olstrum improved one.
Flimby’s man of the match was Ryan Williams with Jamie Devine taking the honours for the Brow.
In the other game Kells A won 46-20 at Glasson Rangers after a very tight first-half in which the visitors led 24-16.
But Kells pulled away in the second-half and in the end scored eight tries through Daniel Grears (2), Jamie Jennings (2), Arben Pervizaj, Corey Chambers, Casey Chambers and Blaine Graham with five goals from Graham.
Glasson had been very much in the contest at half-time and their tries came from Ryan Morris, Connor Wilson, Ben Humm and Matthew Burns. Tyler Beales and Bobby Benson each kicked a goal.
The Glasson man of the match was Ryan Morris with the Kells nomination being Brodie Rutherford.
Two Cumbrian sides had tough away games in the BARLA National Cup at Conference League sides and were beaten.
Lowca lost 58-8 at Rochdale Mayfield while Cockermouth Titans went down 102-0 at Thatto Heath Crusaders.
